About Dave Marchant

Dorset-based Dave Marchant has been playing guitar for more than fifty years, appearing with artists such as Courtney Pine, John Stevens, John Etheridge and Hot Club of Hackney. An active educator, he was a founder member of Community Music in London (now CM) and was Head of Jazz and Pop at Southampton University. Jim Hall has been a major influence since his early twenties and in 1994 he (and Rick) studied with the American guitarist.
